Overview

The client, Denner Heating & Plumbing, wasn't seeing tangible lead generation from their website despite making a recent investment.

Project objectives

The main aim was to identify any issues that were contributing to the lack of leads, and the secondary focus was on improving content quality and scope on the current website.

What we did

SEO website audit

Our first action was to carry out a full SEO audit, and during this process we assessed on-page, off-page and technical SEO factors. Once we had an understanding of each of these main areas, we also reviewed the website from a holistic point of view, helping us to establish what users were experiencing. Our audit findings were presented to the client, and we summarised a long term plan as well as highlighting some priority actions. From this point, the client was happy to go ahead and start implementing some of our recommendations.

UX page design

As per our audit findings, we started by reviewing the current page layouts, and we made suggestions to optimise the design. Our proposed page structures included adding areas for targeted content, placing clear call to action buttons before the page scroll, and adding key trust signals such as testimonials. Our optimised page designs were passed onto the developer at CreativeHutch.

Keyword research

To start the content aspect of the project, we carried out some in-depth keyword research. This included exploring broader service-related phrases, as well as understanding language used in local searches across three key locations - Annan, Dumfries and Carlisle.

Website content creation/optimisation

We applied our keyword research findings by creating optimised content for all current service pages, and we used our most valuable local search terms to build three location pages.

On page optimisation

We added on-page elements such as internal links and optimised meta content to all pages.

Migration & launch

Our new page designs and content optimisation became part of a broader website redevelopment effort, so we provided essential migration support both before and after the new site launched.
